New edition of the Hydronynamics of Wave Energy Converters (HYWEC) Workshop 2022

From 27 to 30 June, the Hydrodynamics of Wave Energy Converters (HYWEC) 2022 workshop will be held at the School of Engineering of the University of the Basque Country – UPV/EHU, in Bilbao under invitation. The event will bring together different speakers and attendees who are experts in the development of new mathematical and numerical models for the simulation of the hydrodynamics of wave energy converters (WECs). During the four days of the workshop, there will be invited talks, scientific presentations, round table discussions, software demonstration and brainstorming sessions.

The workshop has been organised by the University of the Basque Country – UPV/EHU, the University of Bordeaux, the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, Tecnalia and the French National Institute for Research in Numerical Sciences and Technologies – INRIA.

The event is one of the activities of the RENOVABLES project, funded by the Euroregion Basque Country, Navarra and New Aquitaine. The project that seeks to foster strategic cooperation between the Euroregion’s socio-economic stakeholders to drive the blue economy around the Bay of Biscay. To this end, the implementation of offshore renewable energies is considered, through a high-level training cross-border network. The consortium involves the instititions organising the workshop as well as Alerion, UPNA, Trent Chair, CENER, Naitec.
