5th BCAM-UPV/EHU summer school on harmonic analysis and PDEs: Sphere packing is taking place in Bilbao

  • Between 19 and 23 June 2023 the summer school will be held at BCAM and UPV/EHU

Basque Center for Applied Mathematics – BCAM and UPV/EHU organize the 5th edition of BCAM-UPV/EHU summer school on harmonic analysis and PDEs: Sphere packing. This year, the event will take place between 19 and 23 June 2023 with two locations, BCAM and Leioa campus of UPV/EHU.

This summer school is dedicated to sphere packing and will consist of 3 mini-courses and working groups on special topics related to the mini-courses. Felipe Gonçalves (IMPA), Philippe Moustrou (University of Toulouse), and Danylo Radchenko (University of Lille) have been invited to deliver the mini-courses and coordinate the learning activities.

The topics to be discussed during the event are Sign uncertainty, interpolation and quasicrystals, topics to be discussed during, Optimization methods for sphere packing problems and Modular forms and their applications to sphere packings.

There will be no registration fee for the participants of the summer school, however, since we only have a maximum capacity of 24 students, application for participation is mandatory. 10 student will receive fellowships that will cover the accommodation and 2 meals per day between the dates 18 (arrival) – 24 June (departure).
